All of the quake servers hosted on the
St. Louis (quake.shmack.net) machine experienced some downtime due to
the physical server being relocated into another facility.  The
server has been successfully relocated, however, there may be minor
outages of service throughout the week.

         - Added a
vote-backpacks command which allows you to toggle the dropping of
backpacks on death.  This is a feature request for Bam.

 		- Some rocket arena maps have only 1
spawn spot and players were forced into the observer lounge.
 		[fixed]

         - I added the commands
 		faststart, lock,
and unlock for match mode.  The
faststart command will toggle between a 60 second and 20 second
countdown timer.  The lock and unlock commands are used during a
match to allow or deny more players from entering the game.

         - If you disconnect during a match in
match mode, you can reconnect to the server and type
ready to rejoin with your previous stats.

         - The gas grenades weren't always
working.  Thanks to Zop for pointing this out.  [fixed]

         - Players who are idle for more than
five minutes will be considered away from keyboard.  A gold
AFK will appear by their name in
 		+showscores and GLQuake HUD.

         - If you go into observer mode when your
frags are less than zero, they will be reset to zero.

         - The modes arena, match, practice, and
normal cannot be combined.  Voting for one of these modes disables
 		the current mode.

         - The haste rune had no effect on
lavagun.  Thanks to Zop for pointing this out.  The flames now
shoot straight instead of fall to ground when yielding the haste rune.

         - If you killed a player who activated
divine wind during the last 0.5 seconds of the countdown, he wouldn't
explode.  Thanks to Zop for pointing this out.  [fixed]

         - The cloak rune's sonar feature
shouldn't detect environmental protection suit/rune holders.
Thanks to Zop for pointing this out.  [fixed]

         - If you tried to fire a rocket and toss
a fire trap at the same time, your rocket would explode when it made
contact with the flame projectile.  [fixed]

         - Added
vote-armor-drop.  This toggles the ability to drop armor on
         death.

         - Fixed a typo that caused the server to
crash on some engines.  Thanks to Sputnikutah for reporting the
         crash.

         - The mod is now compatible with
         ProQuake's pq_smoothcam feature.
Thanks to Yelllow #5 for helping me test this.

         It's Official April Fools' Day:As of 12:01
AM EST, I am taking down the website and quake server.  The Rune
Quake project is being taken over by Sputnikutah, who is also the author
of Qrack (a JoeQuake variant).  I originally asked IEEE 802.11, but
he turned it down saying, "There is no way I could ever fill your shoes,
Slot."   I appreciate such a nice comment and completely
       understand.
When the servers go down, they'll be
replaced with a new mod called Zop the Fish.  Zop, the author of
Zopmod and Zopmod2 has been working on this mod for about 7 years and is
nearly ready to complete it.  He's going to run it a few weeks until
Sputnik can get things in order.
The website is going to be taken over by
Steve, the founder of QuakeOne.Com.  More than likely it will just
forward over to his website, but he said he might put up an extensive
tribute to Singe, the inspiration for Rune Quake as we know it.
Steve has only been designing websites for about 3 weeks though, so he
said it could take a while.
I would like to thank everyone for being
so supportive of Rune Quake and for sticking with it after so many years.
It has been a huge part of my life but unfortunately real life catches up
with you some time.  The good news is that after all these years, a
new law has been introduced to allow me and my life mate to finally get
married.  He too has been very supportive over the years and has
spent a lot of nights alone in bed while I hack away at the computer.
I've been trying to teach him how to play Quake, you might have seen him
around using the names "RoCk HaRd", "PenDragon", or "Yellow#5".
       God bless you all,
       --

Diazoild has pulled the plug on his Quake server and website.
         Take care

Diazoild and thanks for the many years of great entertainment you've
provided for so many people.  Your hard work and dedication has not
         gone unnoticed.
